koverGate 0.8.1 and 0.9.0
In Which the Author Starts to Gain a Wee Spot o' Momentum
koverGate 0.8.1 and 0.9.0 are out!
0.8.1 addresses an issue with projects whose roots are libraries and sub-modules are apps. koverGate will automatically detect this and adapt accordingly, or there is a koverGateRootModule Gradle property that you can use to tailor the behavior a bit.
0.9.0 improves scoped reports a fair bit, adding scoped-gap-delta.json (what changed coverage-wise since the previous scoped report), plus including the instruction and branch counts for gap lines. The skill now also contains instructions for a usage pattern for projects that normally do not use Kover:
- Add Kover and koverGate to the build on your topic branch with your changes
- Run the scoped koverGate report to identify coverage gaps in that topic branch's work
- Make fixes
- Lather, rinse, repeat as desired until the coverage is where you want it
- Remove Kover and koverGate from the build
This way, you can boost coverage of your work, without necessarily having the project itself need to adopt Kover more widely.
