koverGate 0.8.0 and Beyond
In Which the Author Must Apologize for the Long Gap Between Issues
Um, hi! 👋🏻
It has been about a month since my last PAC issue. It turns out that when you start a new job and move to a new home simultaneously, a lot of your spare time vanishes in a puff of smoke. 💨 I do not know what my publishing cadence will be like going forward, but if nothing else, I will be posting here when I update agent-related projects.
In this case, koverGate is up to 0.8.0. If you are not familiar with koverGate, it is a Gradle plugin and associated agent skill to help coding agents better use Kover. The idea is to have the plugin create more-focused and easier-to-parse reports that an agent can consume and act upon. This is faster and cheaper than having the agent do all that work from the raw Kover output.
This release has a few changes:
- koverGate is now available on both the Gradle Plugin Portal and Maven Central. Some enterprises might not support the Gradle Plugin Portal fully, so this offers more flexibility. Each release going forward will be published simultaneously to both distribution channels.
- koverGate now works with Kover
0.9.9and0.9.11. It probably works with0.9.10as well, but that specific release is untested.
- Scoped reports (e.g., only report coverage on lines changed in this Git topic branch) can now ignore whitespace changes. Basically, koverGate uses
git difffor these scoped reports, and you can opt intogit diff --ignore-space-change.
- Android support is now stronger, as I fixed a bug in how
xmlReportTaskgets set up.
I expect to publish a 0.9.0 release in the coming weeks, as I get ramped back up on these projects.
